Patsy Swendson and Gracie Patsy Swendson, the Penny’s From Heaven Foundation’s Executive Director and Founder, has had love affair with Gracie. Almost totally blind since birth, this sparkling dynamo of a dog is a true inspiration for the vision impaired wounded warriors she works with. Gracie is a Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen, or a PBGV. She has worked at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Institute of San Antonio for 3 ½ years. Currently, she is also working at The Fisher Houses in San Antonio, The Barracks at BAMC and in Group Support Session with traumatic brain injured and post traumatic stress disorder warriors. The patients all fall in love with her, especially the big strong marines and soldiers!
